Abdul Daryabadi : Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he!
Dr. Mohsin : Perish the two hands of Abû Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he![]
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish.
Yusuf Ali : Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he!


Verse:002
Abdul Daryabadi : His riches availed him not, nor what he earned.
Dr. Mohsin : His wealth and his children will not benefit him!
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Neither his wealth benefited him, nor what he earned. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : His wealth and gains will not exempt him.
Yusuf Ali : No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains!


Verse:003
Abdul Daryabadi : Soon he shall roast in a Fire, Flame,
Dr. Mohsin : He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames!
Mufti Taqi Usmani : He will soon enter a Fire, full of flames,
Pickthal : He will be plunged in flaming Fire,
Yusuf Ali : Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of blazing Flame!


Verse:004
Abdul Daryabadi : and his wife also ;a fuel carrier.
Dr. Mohsin : And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (SAW) , or use to slander him)[].
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And his wife as well,__the wicked [QETafseerComment] carrier of firewood. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : And his wife, the wood-carrier,
Yusuf Ali : His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood ―as fuel!―


Verse:005
Abdul Daryabadi : Around her neck shall be a cord of twisted palm fibres.
Dr. Mohsin : In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre).[]
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Around her neck, there is (a collar of iron, like) a well-twisted rope. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre.
Yusuf Ali : A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!
