Verse:001
Abdul Daryabadi : Woe unto every slandering traducer,
Dr. Mohsin : Woe to every slanderer and backbiter.[]
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Woe to every backbiter, derider [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Woe unto every slandering traducer,
Yusuf Ali : Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and backbiter,


Verse:002
Abdul Daryabadi : Who has gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it.
Dr. Mohsin : Who has gathered wealth and counted it,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Who accumulates wealth and counts it. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it.
Yusuf Ali : Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by,


Verse:003
Abdul Daryabadi : He thinks that his wealth will render him immortal.
Dr. Mohsin : He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever!
Mufti Taqi Usmani : He thinks that his wealth has made him eternal.
Pickthal : He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal.
Yusuf Ali : Thinking that his wealth would make him last forever!


Verse:004
Abdul Daryabadi : Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One.
Dr. Mohsin : Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing Fire.
Pickthal : Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One.
Yusuf Ali : By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into that which breaks to pieces.


Verse:005
Abdul Daryabadi : Ah, what will convey unto you what the Consuming One is!
Dr. Mohsin : And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is?
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And what may let you know what the Crushing Fire is?
Pickthal : Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is!
Yusuf Ali : And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces?


Verse:006
Abdul Daryabadi : (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled,
Dr. Mohsin : The fire of Allâh, kindled,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : It is Allah’s kindled fire
Pickthal : (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled,
Yusuf Ali : (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze)


Verse:007
Abdul Daryabadi : Which leaps up over the hearts (of men).
Dr. Mohsin : Which leaps up over the hearts,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : That will peep into the hearts.
Pickthal : Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men).
Yusuf Ali : The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts:


Verse:008
Abdul Daryabadi : Lo! it is closed in on them
Dr. Mohsin : Verily, it shall be closed upon them,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : It will be closed on them,
Pickthal : Lo! it is closed in on them
Yusuf Ali : It shall be made into a vault over them,


Verse:009
Abdul Daryabadi : In outstretched columns.
Dr. Mohsin : In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars).
Mufti Taqi Usmani : In outstretched columns.
Pickthal : In outstretched columns.
Yusuf Ali : In columns outstretched.,
