Verse:001
Abdul Daryabadi : By the fig, by the olive,
Dr. Mohsin : By the fig, and the olive,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : I swear by the Fig and the Olive,
Pickthal : By the fig and the olive,
Yusuf Ali : By the Fig and the Olive,


Verse:002
Abdul Daryabadi : by the Mount Sinai,
Dr. Mohsin : By Mount Sinai,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And by Tur, the mount of Sinai,
Pickthal : By Mount Sinai,
Yusuf Ali : And the Mount of Sinai,


Verse:003
Abdul Daryabadi : by this secure city,
Dr. Mohsin : By this city of security (Makkah)[] ,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : And by this peaceful city, [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : And by this land made safe;
Yusuf Ali : And this City of security―


Verse:004
Abdul Daryabadi : assuredly We have created men in the goodliest mould.
Dr. Mohsin : Verily, We created man in the best stature (mould),
Mufti Taqi Usmani : We have created man in the best composition,
Pickthal : Surely We created man of the best stature
Yusuf Ali : We have indeed created man in the best of moulds,


Verse:005
Abdul Daryabadi : Thereafter We revert him to the lowest of the low --
Dr. Mohsin : Then We reduced him to the lowest of the low,
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Then We turned him into the lowest of the low, [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Then we reduced him to the lowest of the low,
Yusuf Ali : Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low―


Verse:006
Abdul Daryabadi : save those who believe and work righteous deeds. Theirs shall be wage unending.
Dr. Mohsin : Save those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, Then they shall have a reward without end (Paradise).
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Except those who believed and did righteous deeds, because for them there is a reward never ending. [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Save those who believe and do good works, and theirs is a reward unfailing.
Yusuf Ali : Except such as believe and do righteous deeds: for they shall have a reward unfailing.


Verse:007
Abdul Daryabadi : What will make thee deny the requital?
Dr. Mohsin : Then what (or who) causes you (O disbelievers) to deny the Recompense (i.e. Day of Resurrection)?
Mufti Taqi Usmani : So, what can make you, after all this, to deny the Requital?
Pickthal : So who henceforth will give the lie to thee about the judgment?
Yusuf Ali : Then what can, after this, contradict thee; as to the Judgment (to come)?


Verse:008
Abdul Daryabadi : Is not Allah the greatest of the rulers?
Dr. Mohsin : Is not Allâh the Best of judges?
Mufti Taqi Usmani : Is Allah not the Greatest Ruler of all the rulers? [QETafseerComment]
Pickthal : Is not Allah the most conclusive of all judges?
Yusuf Ali : Is not Allah the wisest of Judges?
